Deck

Our Engineered Steel Deck System is Revolutionary

In our previous experience with building decks we knew there had to be a better way.   Like many deck builders, we have been so disappointed with the quality of available pressure treated lumber for deck building.   We grew tired of wasting countless hours trying to find the best pieces to use for our customers only to have those pieces warp just a few months later.   So we did some investigating and saw that light gauge steel was a better alternative.   However, there wasn’t much known about how to use it for residential decks.

So we used our engineering knowledge and experience.

We figured out a cost effective way to replace pressure treated lumber with steel.   We call it the Sturdy Deck system and it is incredible.   We use heavily galvanized steel beams and joists and pre-assemble them at our facility before transporting them to your home.  However, during our research and development phase we realized that we could also do more to make deck building safer and faster.   First of all by switching to Steel we eliminated the dangers that pressure treated wood presents to our installers and the homeowner.   Just by handling the materials without gloves you are exposed to harsh toxic chemicals.   And when the material is cut on site that toxic sawdust is released into the air and then settles into your lawn where it remains for a long time to come exposing your pets and children to this now hidden danger.

Our system can be installed in a fraction of the time

We use our proprietary design so that our installation process requires minimal tools and equipment.   The days of parking our trailer in your driveway for 2 weeks or more and trampling all over your lawn in the process of building are gone now.   Our process begins with a clean new footing installation, most of the time we use non-concrete footing methods that do not require digging.   After that we deliver the deck and begin putting the frame together.  Even your stairs are made of steel and are pre-cut at our warehouse.   Our system is fully designed in 3D modeling software and we generate construction drawings which are then stamped by an engineer for faster permit approval, which we take care of for you.   You will have several choices for the deck boards as well, ranging in budget.

All of our steel and decking is pre-cut in our facility

This means very little mess in your yard.  It also means that our precision and quality control is better. The deck boards also use our proprietary system for ensuring that the gaps between boards are perfectly set and our Sturdy Deck fasteners are hidden for the cleanest look possible.  This is an engineered system that will last for a very long time, in fact we guarantee it for 50 years in writing.   Every deck will get a certificate with a 50 year written warranty.

Shorter Lead Times

Our lead times are much shorter than for general deck builders.   Once we receive your approval for the deck design we will finalize the 3D model and submit the drawings to the township.  After the permit is issued we will put your deck into production, unlike regular deck building, your deck will be built rain or shine because it’s indoors in a climate controlled environment.   You can even come see it being made in our facility in Boonton Township.    Once it’s done we will schedule the installation, which should only take 1-3 days for most decks and a little longer for complicated designs.

Get On Our Schedule

If you are thinking about a deck then give us a call or fill out our online form to schedule a free consultation.   We will meet you at your home to take a look at the project and the existing landscape.  We can help make suggestions for designs and answer any questions you have.   We can also help you get an idea about pricing for your project.    You will get all the advantages of an engineered steel pre-built deck system with the latest in composite deck boards for about the same price as you would get the same wood framed deck from a reputable deck builder.     Although the price is competitive, there is no competition between a Sturdy Deck and a regular deck.
